Prior to 1958, the area of One Ford Road served as the site for the annual Orange County Boy Scout Jamboree. After that time, it was used as the Ford Aerospace Corporation site. One Ford Road was built by Pacific Bay Homes in three phases, from 1998 to 2000. In 1999, OFR was awarded the Best National Master Planned Community Award. Bemus Landscape received the John Redmond Memorial Award from the California Landscape Contractors Association for the best overall entry from among eight different maintenance categories.

There are five sets of homes in the neighborhood each with a variety of floor plans and elevations: Balboa, Carmel, Stonybrook, Summer House and Providence. There are also seven custom home sites, located on Troon Drive.
One Ford Road is located in Newport Beach, a seaside city in Orange County, California near many attractions like Fashion Island, Balboa Fun Zone, Balboa Island Ferry, Corona del Mar State Beach and more.

The elementary school assigned to OFR is Abraham Lincoln Elementary School located in Corona del Mar. Bus service is available to this school from our community. The bus stop is located near the Clubhouse.
Corona del Mar Middle School and High School is the public middle and high school assigned to OFR.
